★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "On book four of the series and riveting storytelling with a lot of characters. Suspenseful and keeps you wondering where the plot is heading, till the final reveal..." -Hal Bigelow

    ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "I am totally loving this series!" -DENISE MCCARRAHER

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "I’ve only finished two, very good reads and I plan to read them all!" - Douglas Bright

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A surprisingly entertaining story I received the first six ebooks from Gregory Payette that feature Henry Walsh as security advisor for the local baseball team in Jacksonville, FL. I was drawn to this since I lived in Jacksonville until moving to nearby Clay County. Sadly, there have been a few attempts to use Jacksonville as a backdrop for books, movies and even a TV series. None of them have ever been successful. Finally, I read a story set in Jacksonville that should be a large success. I have a huge pile of TBR books so I have to skip around but I will be returning to this series soon. -Richard Klinzman

Here's more about The Last Ride and The Crystal Pelican...

The Last Ride (Henry Walsh Mystery #2)

It’s Henry’s first big case as a licensed private investigator. If he’s not careful, it could be his last…

One Sunday morning, John Thompson went out for a ride on his bike. He never made it home.

Was his death really just a freak accident?

That’s the question ex-wife, Angela Thompson, has for the sheriff’s office. But for some reason they refuse to investigate further…

She'd been told by a mutual friend that if anyone can get to the truth, it’s a man named Henry Walsh. He’d only recently aced the Florida private investigator’s exam and paid his one-hundred-sixty-seven dollar fee. But even if the ink’s still wet on his business cards, he’s ready for his first big client.

At first, he’s reluctant to take the case. The evidence is quite thin. But Henry’s a headstrong, straight-shooter. He’ll take his chances.

And he could use the work.

With help from his friend and ex-cop Alexandria “Alex” Jepson, the two start to dive into the investigation.

Questions about the victim’s past soon rise to the surface. With his shady business dealings, an ex-wife, a dead wife, and the young widow he left behind… the list of suspects only grows.

When Henry and Alex’s lives are threatened, it becomes dangerously clear someone will do whatever it takes to stop their investigation. And as they find themselves getting closer to the truth, the deadlier it all becomes…

The Crystal Pelican (Henry Walsh Mystery #3)

In his most thrilling mystery yet, private investigator Henry Walsh dodges bullets, bombs, and married women to help find a friend’s missing fiancé…

Just as he’s about to begin the search, an explosion rocks the marina where his friend was staying. When divers from the Sheriff’s Office come up out of the water empty handed, Henry can only fear the worst.

But he keeps his promise, and leaves no stone unturned as he continues his search for his friend’s fiancé. And as he hunts for those responsible, it’s Henry who soon becomes the hunted.

The target on his back only grows, and he must fight to keep those around him out of harm’s way.

His normally hard-shelled partner Alex is worried they’re in way over their heads. She pleads with him to leave it in the hands of the Sheriff’s Office.

But walking away was never Henry’s thing. And he knows once he has all the pieces, he’ll have no problem making them fit.

As long as he can stay alive...

When Henry finally discovers the one thing everyone’s been after, getting his hands on it is his only option.

But it won’t be as easy. Apparently, it’s a treasure worth killing for…
